KRU LUKE

Luke Crosby is a versatile Hollywood stuntman, filmmaker, and lifelong martial artist. He started his martial arts journey at the age of 3 with Arjukenpo karate at House of Champions Academy of Martial Arts, and has since earned a 3rd Dan Black Belt in Arjukenpo and a 1st degree black belt in American Tang Soo Do.

 

With extensive experience in Muay Thai, Luke also teaches our Cardio Thai Kickboxing class. He's always up for a challenge, so don't hesitate to ask him to show you a back flip. Luke's multifaceted talents and unwavering passion for martial arts make him an invaluable member of our team.

KRU DAVID

David Estrada is a lifelong martial artist who started training at the age of 5 at the renowned House of Champions in Van Nuys. With expertise in Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Jujitsu, he's an all-around fighter who loves the thrill of competition. Having fought in numerous tournaments and fights,

 

David shares his valuable experience and knowledge with students as a teacher of our engaging and dynamic Muay Thai and American Tang Soo Do classes at Cutting Edge. Come and experience the excitement of training with David, who'll help you unleash your inner fighter!

Do I need previous experience?

No, you do not need to have any previous martial arts experience to join a Muay Thai program. Our program is designed to be accessible to both beginners and experienced fighters. Our experienced instructors will guide you through the fundamentals and ensure that you have a solid foundation in the techniques and principles of Muay Thai. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced martial artist, we welcome you to join our program and start your journey towards becoming a skilled Muay Thai fighter.

What do you do in class? and What do I need to wear?

Our Kickboxing program provides a diverse range of components, with each session incorporating a unique workout. Typically, our classes feature a heart-pumping warm-up, footwork and movement drills, partner drills utilizing pads, stretching, and additional exercises. Although this class emphasizes cardiovascular endurance and does not include any contact sparring drills for beginners, we do incorporate contact drills for more advanced students.

Do I need to be fit to do Kickboxing?

No, you do not need to be fit to start training in Muay Thai. Our program is designed to help you improve your fitness level gradually, starting from where you are. We understand that everyone has different fitness levels and goals, and we cater to each individual's needs accordingly.

 

Our experienced instructors will guide you through the training sessions, and you can progress at your own pace. As you continue training, you will see improvements in your overall fitness, strength, and endurance.

Are there people my age doing Kickboxing?

Yes, Muay Thai Kickboxing is for people of all ages. We have a diverse group of students, including children as young as six years old and adults of all ages. Our classes are designed to cater to all levels of experience and fitness, so regardless of your age or skill level, you will be able to find a class that suits your needs.

 

Our instructors are experienced and knowledgeable, and they will work with you to ensure that you can train safely and effectively. So whether you are a teenager looking to get in shape, a busy professional trying to relieve stress, or a retiree looking for a new hobby, you will be able to find a welcoming community of people at our Muay Thai Kickboxing program.

Will I get hurt?

Muay Thai is a contact sport, and like any physical activity, there is always a risk of injury. However, we take every precaution to ensure our students' safety.Our trainers prioritize proper form and technique to minimize the risk of injury, and we also provide protective gear such as gloves, shin guards, and headgear.

 

Additionally, our classes are structured to accommodate different fitness levels and skill levels, so you can gradually build up your endurance and technique over time.  As long as you listen to your body and follow your instructor's guidance, you should be able to participate in our classes without any major issues.

What should I wear?

Simply put on comfortable athletic attire and get ready to enjoy yourself while improving your fitness.
