Muay Thai (Thai Boxing)

Muay Thai, sometimes known as "Thai boxing," is a martial art and combat sport that incorporates stand-up hitting and clinching techniques. Because of the simultaneous use of fists, elbows, knees, and shins, this discipline is known as the "art of eight limbs."
Muay Thai is a martial art with roots in military use dating back to the Sukhothai Kingdom in the 13th century.

Benefits of Muay Thai

People who have practiced Muay Thai for a long time swear by its weight-loss and body-sculpting benefits. This is unsurprising given that Muay Thai is a high-intensity full-body workout that engages a variety of key muscle groups.

Regularly attending Muay Thai lessons and training is an excellent approach to increase self-discipline. You will be encouraged and motivated to stick to your training program and practice as you learn new abilities and methods and make progress toward your fitness objectives. Slowly but steadily, you will create good habits and increase your self-control.

LUKE CROSBY

Luke Crosby is a Hollywood stuntman, filmmaker, and life-long martial artist. Luke started martial arts at 3 years old in Arjukenpo karate at House Of Champions Academy of Martial Arts. He is now a 3rd Dan Black Belt in Arjukenpo.
Luke expanded his martial arts journey and now holds a 1st Dan Black Belt in American Tang Soo Do under Master Kemmer. He is Master Kemmer’s right hand man and Head Instructor at Cutting Edge. Luke also has a background in Muay Thai, Judo, Kendo, and Capoeira.

DAVID ESTRADA

David is passionate about martial arts. He started training when he was 5 years old at House of Champions in Van Nuys. He has experience in Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Jujitsu. He loves fighting and competition.
He has fought in countless tournaments and fights over the years and loves sharing his knowledge with others. David teaches our Muay Thai and American Tang Soo Do classes.

What is Muay Thai Kickboxing?

Muay Thai is a fighting system that focuses on punches, elbows, kicks, and knees. Kickboxing is a standing sport and it is a total body workout. It has many benefits such as weight loss, increased muscle tone, and improved strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. Kickboxing is also a good way to learn and develop self-defense skills.

What do you do in class? and What do I need to wear?

Our Kickboxing classes offer a wide variety of aspects and our sessions offer a different workout every day. Generally, they include a warm-up to get your heart rate moving, footwork drills, movement drills, partner drills on pads, stretching, and more. This is a cardio kickboxing class so we don't do contact sparring drills.
Just wear comfortable sports clothes and be prepared to have fun at the same time you are getting healthy.

Do I need to be fit to do Kickboxing?

Come as you are! We are all at different places along our path to fitness and health. Everyone has to start somewhere and while being fit will help, it is not necessary to take this class. The instructor knows that everyone is different and always tries to ensure students push themselves where they can in an attempt to attain higher and better personal levels and goals.

Are there people my age doing Kickboxing?

We have students as young as 6 years old up to 65 years training with us!
